Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, is expected to arrive in Cairo today, coming directly from Bangkok where he attended the 74th FIFA Congress.
Lekjaa’s visit to Cairo is twofold: as a member of the CAF Executive Committee and to show his support for RS Berkane, who will face Egypt’s Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup final on Sunday.
This high-stakes match will see RS Berkane, representing Moroccan football, vying for continental glory against the renowned Egyptian club.
The presence of Lekjaa, a prominent figure in African football governance, underscores the significance of the occasion for Moroccan football.
In a statement before his departure from Bangkok, Lekjaa expressed his optimism for RS Berkane’s chances and his pride in their achievements this season.
“Our team’s presence in the final is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and management. We stand behind them as they represent Morocco on this grand stage,” he said.
