Mike Makaab, agent of enterprising attacker Sipho Mbule has rubbished reports linking his client to South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs.
The 27-year-old midfielder became a free agent after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns, following a short-lived loan spell at Sekhukhune United that was terminated due to disciplinary issues, including reports of showing up to training under the influence of alcohol.
Despite the off-field controversies, Mbule remains a fan favourite, with a section of Kaizer Chiefs fans clamoring for his acquisition. But Makaab insists there’s been no contact from Naturena.
“I don’t know where the talks that Sipho Mbule is going to Kaizer Chiefs are coming from, There hasn’t been any formal approach from any team. We’re still exploring all the best possible options.” Makaab told FARPost.
In the recently concluded season, the forward racked up 2 goals and provided 3 assists in 17 appearances for Sekhukhune.
And between 2022 to 2025, Sipho Mbule made 51 matches appearances for Sundowns, scoring three goals and assisting just one.
With Kaizer Chiefs out of the picture for now, Mbule’s future remains uncertain. Makaab and his team continue the search for a new club—but potential suitors will need to weigh his raw talent against his off-field baggage.
