Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has reportedly demanded a staggering $5 million to join Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
The 39-year-old Spanish defender, currently playing for Monterrey in Mexico after joining the club as a free agent in February, has been linked with a move to the Botola Pro League side ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States next month.
According to Moroccan media reports, Ramos has set a hefty price tag for his potential short-term switch. In addition to the multi-million-dollar fee, the former PSG star has also requested a private jet for travel to Africa.
However, Egyptian journalist Jamal Staifi has reported that Wydad have ruled out signing Ramos due to his high financial demands.
Ramos remains under contract with Monterrey until the end of the year, meaning Wydad would need to negotiate a transfer fee if they pursued the deal.
Wydad Casablanca are actively reinforcing their squad for the expanded Club World Cup. They’ve already secured the signings of Stéphane Kyi and Nordin Amrabat.
The Moroccan outfit has been drawn in Group G alongside European heavyweights Manchester City, Italian giants Juventus, and UAE champions Al Ain.
