Sean Mogaila pleads guilty to culpable homicide charge

Former Sekhukhune United midfielder Sean Mogaila has pleaded guilty to a charge of culpable homicide following a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a child more than two years ago.

Mogaila appeared in court on Tuesday, where he formally entered a guilty plea in connection with the accident, which resulted in the death of the child and left other occupants injured.

The incident has remained before the courts since it occurred, with the former Sekhukhune United player now set to return later this year when the matter proceeds to the sentencing stage.

Mogaila spent the past two seasons with Sekhukhune United, becoming part of the Babina Noko squad during that period. However, his time with the club came to an end at the start of the current campaign after the midfielder was released.

His court appearance now marks a significant development in the case, with the guilty plea bringing the proceedings closer to conclusion.

The former midfielder will have to await the court’s decision on sentencing when he returns later this year.
