Former Raja Casablanca president Mohamed Boudrika has returned to Morocco from Germany, where he is set to face trial for multiple charges.
DW Arabia reports that the Hamburg prosecutor’s office confirmed that the only remaining step is the formal transfer of Boudrika to Moroccan authorities.
Boudrika had been detained in a Hamburg prison since his arrest on July 16, 2024, at Hamburg Airport, following an Interpol alert issued at the request of Moroccan officials.
On April 4, 2025, the German Constitutional Court rejected Boudrika’s constitutional complaint, using its authority to dismiss the appeal without offering further details.
The court confirmed that the complaint would not be reviewed, as stated in a response to DW Arabia.
The former Raja president faces several serious charges in Morocco, including issuing fraudulent checks and involvement in scams, according to local reports.
In a previous ruling, Morocco’s Constitutional Court had stripped Boudrika of his parliamentary status.
The Hamburg Regional Court has confirmed that Boudrika’s extradition request was approved, with the Federal Office of Justice also giving its approval.
While the exact date of his transfer to Morocco remains unclear, sources suggest that it should happen soon.
Boudrika, who led Raja Casablanca to a league and Throne Cup double last season, was unable to continue in his position due to the legal issues.
His arrest makes him the third former president of Raja Casablanca to face legal troubles, following Abdelaziz Badraoui and Mohamed Ozal. Former Wydad president Said Naciri is also under investigation.
The situation for both Raja Casablanca and Wydad, their fierce rivals, has been heavily affected. Both teams ended last season without any major titles and are now set to miss out on the upcoming CAF Champions League.
