Former Lecce skipper Fabio Lucioni is backing Danish-Nigerian youngster Patrick Dorgu to join Manchester United this window.

Dorgu has come close to joining the Premier League outfit on a permanent deal from the Serie A outfit as he is set for medical on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Luicioni, who has just been released by Palermo, told Telerama: “I would have already bought him a plane ticket.

“I say this in a positive sense, because he is a boy who has made an important journey in the youth sector and has shown that he can compete in a higher level of football than the one you experience in Lecce. So it’s right that he goes.”

Dorgu has been outstanding for Lecce this season, scoring three goals and providing an assist from 21 games in the Serie A.

The talented defender has also scored once in 4 appearances for Denmark’s national team.
