Former Guinea international forward Ibrahima Traore names his three favourites for the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Traore, once the captain of the Syli National, had 49 caps with 8 goals for his country before hanging on his boots.
The former Monchengladbach star made his debut for Guinea on August 11, 2010, announcing his presence with some needed and important goals in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the tournaments in particular.
One of his remarkable moments was when he scored a late equalizer, 90+12 minutes goal against Nigeria in a qualifier.
Traore, 35, now with Canal+ as a consultant but still has his eyes on the African game.
However, Traore has screen through to name his three favourites for the tournament which are Senegal, the defending champions, Ivory Coast, the host country and Morocco considering their good performance especially during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“There isn’t really a clear favourite. That said, there will always be the regulars, Senegal, title holders. Then, there is inevitably Ivory Coast, which plays at home, Morocco, after their performance at the last World Cup,” Traore said
“These three teams will be expected for me, but I do not have a favourite for this AFCON.”
