The High Council for Sports in Africa (CSSA) is facing a critical phase, with Ministers of Sports convening in Brazzaville, Congo, to discuss its dissolution. Originally decided in 2009 in Abuja, Nigeria, by the Sports Ministers of the African Union (AU), the fate of CSSA is now being reconsidered. There are two opposing views: one advocating for the dissolution of CSSA (supported by Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Botswana) and another pushing for its reform (backed by Algeria, Nigeria, and Kenya). A final decision on CSSA’s future is expected in March 2023 during an extraordinary general assembly in Ivory Coast.
