KCCA FC Clinches Second Consecutive Ugandan Title with Dominant 3-1 Victory Over SC Villa
Kampala, Uganda – Kampala City Council Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) secured their second successive Ugandan Premier League title with a commanding 3-1 win over arch-rivals Sports Club Villa last Tuesday, wrapping up a successful season with 60 points from 30 matches.
The match, held at the Kampala Stadium, saw KCCA put in a clinical performance, particularly in the first half, where they raced into a 2-0 lead. The opening goal came courtesy of Steven Bengo, a key figure for the team and a standout Uganda national team player. The second strike was netted by defender Ronnie Kiseeka, who doubled KCCA’s advantage. However, the match would take an unexpected turn, as Kiseeka inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, gifting SC Villa a lifeline and reducing the lead to 2-1.
Despite the unfortunate own goal, KCCA maintained control of the game, and before the half-time whistle, they extended their advantage to 3-0, with William Madri finding the back of the net. KCCA finished the campaign on top of the table with 60 points, edging out their closest rivals, SC Villa, who finished with 59 points.
