Patrice Neveu will formally sign his contract as head coach of Togo national football team on Friday morning, marking the official start of his tenure.

The signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10:00 GMT at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, according to an announcement by the Togolese Football Federation (FTF). Following the formalities, Neveu will be introduced to the public.

The 71-year-old was appointed on 19 February and is due to begin his duties on 27 February. His arrival signals a new chapter for the national side as they look to move forward under experienced leadership.

Neveu brings with him a long record of managing national teams across Africa. Over the course of his career, he has overseen Guinea, Mauritania and the Democratic Republic of Congo, before most recently taking charge of Gabon between 2019 and 2023.

His experience on the continent is expected to play a key role in shaping Togo’s next phase.

He replaces Nibombé Daré, stepping into the role with the task of guiding the team through its upcoming challenges.

The contract signing at Kégué Stadium will formally confirm his appointment and outline the beginning of his work with the squad.

For Togo, the ceremony represents more than an administrative step. It marks the start of a fresh project under a coach familiar with the demands of African international football, as the federation seeks stability and renewed momentum for the national team.
