FIFA seems to be far from experiencing any financial crisis, as it continues to report significant revenues year after year. According to Le Figaro, the governing body of world football earned over 1.386 billion dollars in 2013, resulting in a net profit of 72 million (approximately 52.21 million euros).
This figure surpasses the record set in 2010, the year of the South African World Cup, during which FIFA collected 1.291 billion dollars.
With the 2014 World Cup already underway and upcoming tournaments in 2018 (Russia) and 2022 (Qatar), FIFA’s revenues are expected to continue to rise.
