Kodjovi Kegbalo has been officially appointed as the coach of the junior national team by the Togolese Football Federation (FTF), as confirmed by the FTF’s communications service on Wednesday. Kegbalo, formerly the coach of Dyto, a 1st division club, recently completed the coaching training program and obtained the C license from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Lomé from July 29 to August 11, 2013. He will be assisted in his new role by Franck Dote, a former international player.
The duo’s first challenge will be the President Cup 2014, a sub-regional tournament reserved for under-17s, which will be hosted by Togo from April 19 to 28. Participating teams include Benin, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, and Nigeria. This competition will serve as preparation for the start of the CAN U17 qualifiers for Niger 2015, scheduled for June, where the Togolese junior team will compete against Guinea Bissau.
