Florent Malouda, the legendary figure of the French national team and former Chelsea player, attended the friendly match between Zamalek and Qatar’s Umm Salal, which concluded with a 2-0 victory for the Qatari team, as part of the Unity Championship in the UAE.
In an exclusive statement to “Al Watan Sport,” Malouda commented, “Zamalek’s performance today is impressive against Umm Salal.
It is evident that they are highly focused.
We observe a different style of play between the Egyptian and Qatari schools.”
Malouda went on to say, “Egyptian football always produces many brilliant talents with a promising future, driven by the fans’ passion for the beautiful game.”
He continued, “The Egyptian national team always remains a strong contender for winning the Africa Cup of Nations.
It is an extremely dangerous team. Sometimes, the significant pressure does not allow you to get the quality you want in the early stages of the tournament.
Major teams do not always showcase their best, surprising you in the later stages.
African football has reached a very high level of competitiveness, as seen in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.”
Malouda: Mohamed Salah, a Legendary Player
Malouda emphasized, “Mohamed Salah remains a legendary player, not only for what he has done with Liverpool but in general throughout his career.
He is also a captain and should always be an inspirational figure for all young Egyptian players. They should follow his example, not just in terms of his on-field performance but also his continuous dedication to his body and playing at a very competitive level.
I hope he continues to play for many years.”
He added, “I regularly follow Egyptian clubs in various global tournaments, especially Al Ahly, which competes at the highest levels in the FIFA Club World Cup.
I am pleased with what they offer in those tournaments, reaching such a competitive level with the best teams in various global tournaments.”
Malouda: Salah Should Be Emulated in Life
Malouda concluded, “I admire many Egyptian players besides Mohamed Salah, such as Trezeguet, who plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey, and Mohamed Elneny, an Arsenal player.
However, Salah remains my favorite.”
He finished by saying, “My time in Egypt, specifically with Wadi Degla, holds a special memory in my heart.
Wadi Degla was like a family to me, and I still keep in touch with some friends in Egypt, like Mido, whom I hope to meet in Cairo soon.”
