Norwegian football club FK Haugesund has formalized the extension of Amidou Traoré’s contract, solidifying the promising collaboration with the talented Ivorian midfielder. Traoré, who joined FK Haugesund in the summer of 2023, initially featured in the club’s B team before swiftly earning promotion to the first team in the early months of 2024.
Expressing satisfaction with the development and performance of the 19-year-old central midfielder, FK Haugesund officially announced the contract extension on its website.
The new agreement binds Amidou Traoré to the club until December 31, 2028, a significant commitment from both parties.
This extension comes ahead of the expiration of his original contract, which was set to conclude this summer.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Traoré shared his enthusiasm about the contract extension:
“I am naturally very happy to extend the contract. This has been my goal since I arrived at Haugesund last summer, and I see the club giving me a five-year contract as a big mark of confidence.
Now I will just continue to work hard and help the team have a good season.”
Eirik Opedal, the Sporting Director of FK Haugesund, also expressed optimism about Traoré’s continued growth and contribution to the team:
“Amidou has shown himself very well again during his tenure here and has established himself as the type of player you would like to have in the team.
He still has a lot to develop, but he has great potential that we can’t wait to work on bringing out.”
The contract extension reflects the club’s strategic vision and belief in the potential of Amidou Traoré as a key player in the team’s future endeavors.
