French international of Congolese descent Presnel Kimpembe has made his first Ligue 1 appearance in over two years for giants Paris Saint Germain.
The 29-year-old made substitute appearance to mark his return as PSG walloped Saint Etienne 6-1 in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Kimpembe has been out of action since February 2023 after picking up achilles tendon injury, ruling him out for several months.
He had been included in previous matchday squads this season, including as far back as November 2024, before making his return to professional football when he came on during the last 10 minutes in PSG’s Coupe de France win over Le Mans (2-0) on 4th February.
Since then, he has made a brief appearance against Stade Brestois in the UEFA Champions League, as well as in another Coupe de France fixture.
However, the Frenchman was still yet to feature in Ligue 1 until Saturday. Coming off the bench in the 78th minute, Kimpembe inherited the armband and made his first league appearance in 762 days.
