Portuguese manager José Gomes has officially taken charge of coaching duties at Zamalek, succeeding the interim head coach Mu’tamed Jamal.
Following the signing of the contract, Gomes wasted no time issuing a decree to the team’s management.
He promptly instructed them to communicate with all players, both existing and new, to report to the club on Saturday morning for the inaugural training session under his guidance.
A member of the club’s board revealed that Gomes, upon signing the contract, directed the club’s administration to swiftly contact all players, old and new, to gather at the club premises for the first training session.
The Portuguese coach is set to lead the team in collective training, with the full board and some former stars expected to be present to show their support for the new coach and assure him of the entire club’s backing during the upcoming phase aimed at restoring Zamalek’s glory.
The management of Zamalek had earlier announced the appointment of Portuguese coach José Gomes for a season and a half, after reaching agreements on all financial and contractual matters related to the deal.
