FIFA has shed light on the qualification prospects for European clubs in the 2025 Club World Cup, with particular attention to teams like Al Ahly and Real Madrid.
Scheduled to take place in the United States, the 2025 Club World Cup will feature 32 teams divided into 8 groups.
Confirmed participants for the 2025 Club World Cup include Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Moroccan side Wydad, Saudi powerhouse Al Hilal, Japanese outfit Urawa Reds, Mexican club Monterrey, and MLS teams Seattle Sounders and LAFC.
Also making the cut are Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo, along with European heavyweights Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Benfica, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Porto.
New Zealand’s Auckland City has also secured a spot in the tournament.
According to FIFA, additional teams may join the list based on the results of today and tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League matches.
Real Madrid’s elimination of Leipzig means Borussia Dortmund might secure a place, while Napoli and Lazio’s Italian failure opens the door for Juventus.
Furthermore, a victory for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, or Real Sociedad in the Champions League could directly qualify them for the 2025 Club World Cup.
