Meanwhile, Burundi and Rwanda played out a 1-1 draw, with Saido Ntibazonkiza equalizing after Michel Ndahinduka’s early goal for Amavubi.
However, the match between Sudan and Kenya did not take place as planned. The Kenyan Football Federation canceled the match due to a change of venue. Initially set for Khartoum, the match was relocated to Darfur by Sudanese authorities. However, given the socio-political instability in the region, Harambee Stars declined to participate.
