FIFA Club World Cup: It’s a harsh results – Thembinkosi Lorch after Wydad’s heavy 4-1 loss to Juventus

Wydad Athletic Club star, Thembinkosi Lorch, beleives their 4-1 defeat against Juventus was a harsh result.

The Moroccan club was hoping to secure their first win of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup having opened their campaign with a 2-0 loss against Manchester City.

The defeat against the Italian giants on Sunday confirmed Wydad’s elimination from the tournament.

Lorch, who was on the scorehseet speaking after the game insisted that the team would treat the defeat to Juve as a learning experience.

Speaking to DAZN, Lorch said: “The result is harsh, but we learnt a lot from this match, and from the first one against City.

“We have one last game against Al Ain, and we’ll give it everything to get the three points and make our fans happy.

“We want to give our all for them after the support they’ve shown us.

“I don’t think we lost — it was a chance to learn and gain experience.”

Wydad’s final Club World Cup group game will be against Emirati giants Al Ain on Thursday, 26 June, at 19:00 GMT.
