Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa set to become Al-Ittihad’s latest signing

Al-Ittihad have agreed a deal with Feyenoord to sign Algeria winger Anis Hadj Moussa on a contract running for four seasons until 2030, according to Saudi media reports.

The 24-year-old is expected to become the Saudi Pro League club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window after an outstanding campaign with Feyenoord in the Netherlands.

Al-Ittihad had identified Hadj Moussa as a target during the current summer market as they looked to replace former France winger Moussa Diaby. Diaby completed his move to German club Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya reported that an agreement had been reached between Al-Ittihad and Feyenoord for the transfer of Hadj Moussa. The report did not disclose the value of the deal.

However, French website Foot Mercato previously reported that Al-Ittihad had submitted a €30m offer for the Algeria international.

Hadj Moussa made a significant impact for Feyenoord last season, appearing in 40 matches across all competitions. He scored 14 goals and registered seven assists during the campaign.

His performances attracted interest from several clubs in Europe. French sides Lille and Marseille, along with Portuguese club Sporting CP, had all expressed an interest in signing him, although none of those moves was completed.

Hadj Moussa’s arrival would continue a busy period of recruitment for Al-Ittihad. The club have also signed left-back Fares Abdi from Neom, midfielders Rakan Kaabi from Al-Fayha and Mokhtar Ali from Al-Ettifaq, and Senegalese midfielder Dion Lopy from Almeria.

The agreement with Feyenoord was reported by Al-Riyadiya sources on social media, with the proposed contract set to keep Hadj Moussa at Al-Ittihad until 2030.

The move would see Al-Ittihad add one of the Netherlands’ most effective attacking players from last season to a squad that is being reshaped following Diaby’s departure. Hadj Moussa’s goal return and creative contribution for Feyenoord were key reasons for the interest in him from clubs in France, Portugal and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad are therefore understood to have won the race for his signature, with their agreement with Feyenoord now in place and the long-term contract terms settled.
