Feyenoord stay second after Hadj Moussa brace
Anis Hadj Moussa struck twice in nine first-half minutes as Feyenoord came from behind to beat Telstar 2-1 and maintain their pursuit of leaders PSV.
The Rotterdam side were stunned early on at home when Telstar took the lead in the 14th minute through Ritmeester van de Kamp, leaving Feyenoord chasing the game in front of their own supporters.
But Hadj Moussa turned the contest around before the interval with a clinical double.
His first arrived in the 30th minute.
Meeting a cross from Jordan Bos, the Algerian right winger cushioned the ball with his thigh inside the area, steadied himself with a feint and then drove a low effort beyond the goalkeeper to restore parity.
Nine minutes later, the same combination proved decisive again.
Bos supplied the delivery and Hadj Moussa finished from the penalty spot area with a composed side-footed strike to complete the comeback at 2-1.
The quick-fire goals shifted the momentum firmly in Feyenoord’s favour, ensuring they recovered from their early setback and secured all three points.
Hadj Moussa’s brace takes his tally to 11 goals in all competitions this season, alongside five assists, underlining his growing importance to the team’s attacking output.
The victory keeps Feyenoord second in the league standings, continuing their chase of PSV at the top of the table.
Having fallen behind at home, the response before half-time proved decisive, with Hadj Moussa’s finishing making the difference on the night.
His sharp movement in the box and ability to capitalise on service from Bos ensured Feyenoord avoided further frustration and strengthened their position near the summit.
