Fenerbahce join race to sign German-Senegalese forward Leroy Sane

Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce have joined the race for the signature of German forward of Senegalese descent Leroy Sane.

The club is now set to rival Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray to battle for the services of the forward.

Reports suggest that the winger is not solely focused on a move to Galatasaray, with Fenerbahçe making notable strides to lure him to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

It is understood that English Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are monitoring the situation and may enter negotiations.

Sané’s contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in the summer of 2025, adding to the growing speculation around his future.

The 29-year-old joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2020 for a reported fee of €50 million. Last season, he featured in 45 matches across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and registering 6 assists.

Sane’s future is expected to become clearer by the end of June. Bayern Munich have a contract extension offer for the forward on the table, but will remove it if the forward does not sign it by the end of the month.
