Fenerbahce have FIFA transfer ban lifted after resolving Youssef En-Nesyri payment dispute

Fenerbahce have confirmed that their FIFA transfer ban has been lifted after the Turkish club settled a payment dispute involving former striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

FIFA imposed the sanction last week, preventing Fenerbahce from registering new signings for three transfer windows. The club said on Thursday that the restriction had now been removed after it paid the amount requested in connection with the Morocco international’s transfer from Sevilla.

En-Nesyri joined Fenerbahce from Sevilla in the summer of 2024 for €19.5m. The dispute arose after Fenerbahce delayed payment of one instalment, while Sevilla requested the value of another instalment before its scheduled due date.

Fenerbahce had previously said the ban was temporary and would be withdrawn once the outstanding payment was made. Following completion of the payment, the club will be able to sign players without restrictions from next January.

En-Nesyri spent a season and a half at Fenerbahce, arriving in summer 2024 and leaving in winter 2026. He made 79 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and providing eight assists.

The Morocco striker left during the most recent winter transfer window to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. The transfer was worth €15m, according to media reports.
