Fenerbahce consider Ismaila Sarr as attacking shortlist takes shape

Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr is one of three high-profile options being considered by Fenerbahce as the Turkish club looks to strengthen its attack.

The Senegal international faces competition from Marcus Rashford and Rafael Leao, who are also reported to be on Fenerbahce’s list of potential targets. The club wants to bring in a new forward and would like to sign one of the three players.

Sarr has emerged as a candidate after an impressive World Cup campaign with Senegal, scoring four goals in four matches at the 2026 World Cup. His performances could enhance his appeal to Fenerbahce as the club assesses its attacking options.

However, the 28-year-old is not the only prominent forward being considered. England international Rashford is also under review, although his position at Manchester United remains uncertain.

Rashford returned to Manchester United this summer after spending time on loan at FC Barcelona. Despite going back to the Red Devils, questions remain over whether he will continue with the club, creating uncertainty around his next move.

Rafael Leao is the other name reportedly included among Fenerbahce’s targets. The Portuguese forward’s presence means the Turkish club has identified three established attacking players as possible additions.

According to The Sun, Fenerbahce are prepared to make every effort to recruit a new striker. The club’s intention is to attract one of Sarr, Rashford or Leao to Turkey, with Sarr potentially becoming the player selected.

There is no indication yet of which target Fenerbahce will prioritise. Sarr’s form for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup places him in contention, while Rashford’s uncertain future at Manchester United and Leao’s inclusion give the club alternative routes in its search for a forward.

For now, Fenerbahce’s interest in Sarr remains part of a wider shortlist rather than a completed agreement. The Crystal Palace attacker is therefore competing with two other high-profile names for the opportunity to move to Turkey.
