Felix Nmecha is set to commit to long-term future to Borussia Dortmund
Felix Nmecha looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund for the long haul after the club reached a breakthrough in talks over a new contract for the midfielder.
Interest from several Premier League sides, including Manchester City, had grown in recent weeks, prompting Dortmund to move quickly to secure his future.
According to Sky reporter Patrick Berger, Dortmund will extend Nmecha’s current deal, which had been due to run until 2028, ahead of schedule. The new agreement is expected to keep the 25-year-old at the club until 2030, underlining how highly he is valued within the squad. With this extension, Nmecha is also set to become one of Dortmund’s top earners, reflecting his importance to the team’s long-term plans.
Berger describes the extension as a major step for Dortmund, who knew they risked losing Nmecha to one of several top English clubs if negotiations dragged on. Instead, the Black and Yellows have managed to convince the midfielder that his future lies in the Bundesliga, giving the club a significant boost as they look to build for the coming seasons.
