Felix Nmecha backed to feature for Germany at 2026 FIFA World Cup
Former Germany player Christoph Kramer has backed Felix Nmecha to make the Germany squad that will feature at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who has roots in Nigeria, has been in impressive form this season, with his standout goal against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League underlining his growing importance to the team.
Nmecha, 24, has featured in all five of Dortmund’s matches so far, registering two goals and an assist.
Kramer, a 2014 World Cup winner, praised the youngster’s potential during an appearance on Prime Video, predicting that he will become a regular for Germany on the road to the tournament.
“I have another hot take! A regular at the 2026 World Cup: Felix Nmecha. Very certain,” Kramer said, while cautioning that the player’s susceptibility to injuries remains a concern.
Despite his form, Nmecha was not included in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the final round of World Cup qualifiers.
He is expected to earn a place in the team that will be assembled for the October international break.
