Anthony Martial: “Fekir Was Better Than Me in Lyon’s CFA”
Nabil Fekir continues to shine at Olympique Lyonnais, earning admiration not only from fans and coaches but also from former teammates like Anthony Martial.
Currently with AS Monaco, the 19-year-old forward reflected on his time in Lyon’s youth setup, where he played alongside Corentin Tolisso, Jordan Ferri, Clinton N’Jie, and Nabil Fekir.
“I’m happy for them,” Martial told L’Équipe. “I played with Tolisso, Fekir, Ferri, Njie. I always said that the best in the CFA was Fekir, better than me. He was impressive—and he’s even better today. He’s grown.”
Martial’s comments underscore Fekir’s rise from academy standout to Lyon’s key playmaker, now recognized as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting talents.
