FECAFOOT wins arbitration case, SYNFOC appeal rejected by CAS
The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has confirmed that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed an appeal filed by the Syndicat National des Footballeurs Camerounais (SYNFOC).
The appeal challenged a prior decision by the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (CNOSC), which had already rejected SYNFOC’s claims.
The dispute centred on FECAFOOT’s decision, ratified by its Executive Committee and General Assembly on November 15 and 16, 2024, to withdraw recognition of SYNFOC as the official players’ union in Cameroon.
FECAFOOT had granted this status to the Association Nationale des Footballeurs Camerounais (ANFC).
In its ruling, CAS upheld the legality and legitimacy of FECAFOOT’s decisions, confirming that the federation acted within its sovereign authority and in accordance with applicable regulations.
FECAFOOT emphasised that this decision closes the matter definitively and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing football reforms aimed at the modernisation and proper structuring of the sport in Cameroon.
The federation also called on all stakeholders to remain united in advancing the interests of Cameroonian football.

The communiqué was signed by FECAFOOT Secretary General, Mandong Isaac Noé, in Yaoundé.
