FECAFOOT President exposes double identity scandal rocking Cameroonian football
Cameroonian football faces tumultuous times as Nkwain Valentine, the president of Victoria United, unveils startling revelations concerning a double identity scandal plaguing the sport. His bold decision to shed light on instances of dual identity among players from various Elite One clubs has cast doubt on the integrity of certain individuals within the league.
On March 10, the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) disclosed that 62 Elite One players were implicated in cases of dual identity, impacting 16 out of the 19 clubs.
Surprisingly, teams like Coton Sport de Garoua, Canon de Yaoundé, Stade Renard de Melong, and Aigle Royal de la Menoua were initially spared from the allegations.
However, Nkwain Valentine asserts that evidence exists, incriminating players from these clubs as well.
Valentine alleges that his club, Fauve Azur, is ensnared in a web of 14 players with dual identities, and he has formally lodged 15 complaints with FECAFOOT.
He further accuses players from esteemed teams, including Coton Sport de Garoua with 7 players implicated, Canon de Yaoundé with 6, Gazelle with 8 players, and Stade Renard.
Among those named are Che Randy Ndi, Tchikeu Henry, Atangana Fabrice, Dairou Boubakary, Patient Wassou, Lako Wendeu, and Abdouraman Daman.
“Currently, Fauve Azur has 14 players with dual identities that I’ve identified. I’m here in my office with my 22 employees and my administrative secretary conducting this investigative work.
I’ve already filed 15 complaints with FECAFOOT. Coton Sport de Garoua has 7 players, Canon has 6, Gazelle 8, and Stade Renard as well. In Canon, there are players like Che Randy Ndi, Tchikeu Henry, and Atangana Fabrice.
In Coton, we have Dairou Boubakary, Patient Wassou, Lako Wendeu, and Abdouraman Daman,” stated Valentine.
As the allegations reverberate throughout Cameroonian football, stakeholders await FECAFOOT’s response and the potential repercussions for those implicated in the scandal.
The revelations underscore the need for stringent measures to uphold the integrity and credibility of the sport.
