FC Oberneuland sign Guinea right-back Abdoulaye Camara from FC Worpswede

Guinea defender Abdoulaye Camara has joined FC Oberneuland from FC Worpswede on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old right-back completed the move on 1 September 2026, switching clubs within German football. Oberneuland compete in the Bremenliga, where Camara will continue his career after leaving Worpswede.

Camara is a right-footed defender whose primary position is at right-back. His arrival adds a player with experience of regular competitive football in the regional game, having made 39 Bremenliga appearances and scored three goals. He has also played twice in the Bremenpokal.

The move follows a spell of just under two years at FC Worpswede. Camara joined the club from KSV Vatan Sport on 1 January 2025, having previously arrived at Vatan Sport as a free agent in July 2023.

His time at Worpswede included a substantial contribution in the Bremenliga, with his three goals coming across 3,106 minutes. He also played 180 minutes in the Bremenpokal, taking his recorded total to 41 appearances in the two competitions.

Camara’s switch to Oberneuland is his third recorded club move since beginning his time in Germany. He has remained in the country throughout that period, first joining KSV Vatan Sport before moving on to Worpswede and now making the next step to Oberneuland.

The defender’s nationality gives him an international identity distinct from the German clubs at which he has played, while his age places him among the younger members of Oberneuland’s squad. His role is clearly defined by his experience on the right side of defence and his preference for using his right foot.

Oberneuland have therefore secured a new right-back without a transfer fee, bringing Camara in after his spell with Worpswede. The completed move was registered on 1 September 2026.
