FC Metz star Habib Diallo replaces injured Boulaye Dia in Senegal squad for World Cup qualifiers
FC Metz star Habib Diallo joined the Senegal national team camp for the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Diallo joins the Taranga Lions as a replacement for Boulaye Dia following an injury setback. He is expected to team up with the rest of the squad for the upcoming games.
The 30-year-old forward returns to the Senegal national team for the first time since March 2025 and will be hoping to cement a place in the team.
Senegal will travel to face South Sudan on October 10 before hosting Mauritania four days later in the final round of the qualifying series.
The Taranga Lions are currently on top of Group B with 18 points and will require positive results in the final two games to book a place ta the World Cup to be staged in USA, Canada and Mexico next year.
This season, the 30-year-old attacker has made four appearances in the French Ligue 1, scoring just once for Metz.
Diallo has made 35 appearances since making his debut in 2018 for Senegal, scoring seven goals across the period.
