German club 1. FC Köln are close to sealing the signing of France-born forward of Cameroonian descent, Jacques Siwe.
The Bundesliga club has been in talks with French outfit EA Guingamp for a while and have reportedly made the breakthrough in the last few days.
Despite recently adding Ragnar Ache to their squad, Köln remain in the market for further attacking options.
With preferred target Rayan Philippe set to join Hamburger SV and financial constraints limiting a potential move for Willem Geubbels from FC St. Gallen, Siwe has now emerged as a prime target.
The 22-year-old striker caught attention with an impressive haul of 11 goals in 28 Ligue 2 appearances last season, showcasing his finishing ability.
However, competition for Siwe’s signature remains strong.
Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães and English Championship clubs Watford FC and West Bromwich Albion are also reportedly interested, meaning a deal is far from guaranteed.
Guingamp hold a strong position in negotiations, having secured Siwe’s contract extension last December through to summer 2027.
Koln are hopeful that they can sign Siwe before the end of June.
