Nicosia – Belgian-Moroccan midfielder Faysel Kasmi will spend the remainder of the season in the Cypriot First Division, joining Omonia Nicosia on a one-and-a-half-year loan from Lierse SK.
Kasmi, 20, was previously loaned to Standard Liège but struggled to make an impact, featuring in just six matches and totaling 400 minutes on the pitch. Standard eventually terminated his loan early.
The Belgian-Moroccan, who had extended his contract with Lierse until 2020, now looks to revive his career in Cyprus after a challenging spell in Belgium’s top flight.
Omonia Nicosia hope Kasmi’s arrival will strengthen their midfield options as they push for success in the Cypriot league this season.
