Moroccan midfielder Faycal Fajr has joined Moghreb Tetouan from Saudi Arabian club Al-Jubail on a free transfer, adding extensive domestic and European experience to the Botola Pro Inwi side.

The 38-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 9 September 2026 after spending the previous season with Al-Jubail. Fajr had joined the Saudi club from Al-Taawoun in September 2025, also on a free transfer.

Fajr began his senior career in France and later established himself in Spain, where he made 138 La Liga appearances, scoring seven goals and providing 15 assists. He represented Elche, Deportivo La Coruna and Getafe during his time in the Spanish top flight.

His spell at Getafe included a return to France, with Fajr joining SM Caen for a €1.5m fee in August 2018. He subsequently moved back to Getafe for the same fee a year later, before leaving Spain for Turkey.

Fajr signed for Sivasspor in September 2020 as a free agent and spent two seasons with the club. He helped Sivasspor win the Turkish Cup in the 2021-22 campaign, one of the major honours of his club career.

The midfielder then moved to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Wehda in July 2022. He went on to play for Al-Taawoun before his subsequent spell with Al-Jubail. Across his Saudi Pro League career, Fajr recorded 90 appearances, seven goals and 22 assists, while he also made 30 appearances in the Saudi First Division League.

Fajr has also played in Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and Turkey’s Super Lig, giving him experience across several European competitions. His recorded career totals include 65 Ligue 2 appearances, 49 in Ligue 1 and 65 in the Super Lig.

A right-footed player standing 1.79m tall, Fajr has spent the majority of his career in central midfield. His highest recorded market value was €4.5m, reached during his second spell with Getafe.

He now returns to Morocco with Moghreb Tetouan, having previously represented clubs in France, Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Fajr’s move to the Tetouan-based side was completed as a free transfer from Al-Jubail.
