Al Ain ready to discuss new deal for Egypt defender Rami Rabia

Al Ain are open to extending Rami Rabia’s contract, despite reports that Egyptian club Al Ahly are considering bringing their former defender back to Cairo.

Rabia’s current agreement with the UAE side expires in June. A source inside Al Ain told Kooora that the club’s management is willing to offer the Egypt international a contract renewal, with a slight improvement to his annual salary.

The source said Al Ain believe Rabia can continue contributing for at least one more season after the high level of performance he has shown since joining the club in the summer of 2025.

Reports in recent days had suggested that Al Ahly were interested in re-signing Rabia, who left the club to continue his career abroad with Al Ain.

However, the defender is keen to remain in professional football and is comfortable with the UAE club. He is also looking forward to competing for further honours with Al Ain in the coming period.

Rabia is one of a number of Egypt players currently playing outside the country, with members of the national team squad based in both Europe and the Gulf. That has created the possibility of some continuing their overseas careers, while others could return to Egypt with different clubs.
