Malian international right-back Falaye Sacko is on the brink of a move to Russian Premier League club FK Khimki. With the summer transfer window in full swing since June 10, European clubs are actively seeking to bolster their squads, and Khimki is no exception.

Promoted to the Russian top tier, FK Khimki is keen to secure Sacko’s services as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Negotiations are underway, and the 29-year-old defender is expected to travel to Russia to finalize the details of the deal.

According to sources at Africafoot, Khimki has already put forward a three-year contract for the Malian Eagle.

Sacko, currently with Montpellier Hérault, has faced challenges in securing regular playing time since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2023.

This limited game time has made the prospect of a fresh start in Russia an attractive option for him.

Despite being under contract with Montpellier until June 30, 2026, the Bamako native is reportedly preparing for the move to Khimki.

His market value stands at 4 million euros, according to Transfertmarkt.

The potential transfer represents a significant shift for Sacko, who has struggled to find his footing at Montpellier.

Joining FK Khimki could offer him the opportunity to revive his career and gain the consistent playing time he seeks.

Khimki, on the other hand, stands to benefit from his experience and defensive prowess as they aim to establish themselves in the Russian Premier League.

As the discussions progress, Sacko’s move to FK Khimki appears increasingly likely.

The finalization of this transfer would mark a new chapter for the Malian defender, offering him a chance to prove his mettle in a new league and environment.

For Khimki, securing Sacko would be a strategic addition, potentially strengthening their defensive line as they compete at the highest level in Russian football.

This anticipated move highlights the dynamic nature of the transfer market, where clubs continually seek to enhance their rosters and players look for opportunities to advance their careers.

For Sacko, a successful transfer to FK Khimki could provide the platform he needs to showcase his abilities and make a significant impact in the Russian Premier League.
