Fabio Miretti travels to Istanbul ahead of Besiktas move from Juventus

Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti has left Turin for Istanbul as he prepares to complete a move to Turkish club Besiktas.

Footage shared on social media showed Miretti arriving at Turin airport before travelling to Turkey, where he is expected to complete the formalities of the transfer.

The 22-year-old is set to join Besiktas on loan, with the agreement including an option for the Turkish club to make the move permanent for a fee of about 15m euros.

According to a report by TuttoMercatoWeb, Miretti will remain under contract with Juventus until 30 June 2028. That means next season will be included in the midfielder’s existing deal with the Italian club, despite his planned temporary move to Besiktas.

Miretti will work under Italian manager Vincenzo Italiano in Istanbul. He is also due to be reunited with former Juventus team-mate Dusan Vlahovic, who joined Besiktas on a free transfer after his contract with the Bianconeri expired.

The transfer is part of a wider summer departure programme at Juventus. Vlahovic and Filip Kostic have both left the club following the expiry of their contracts, while several other players have moved on either permanently or on loan.

Those departures include Mattia Perin, Vasilije Adzic, Michele Di Gregorio, Joao Mario, Facundo Gonzalez, Lois Openda and Timothy Weah.

Miretti came through Juventus’ system and made 106 appearances for the club, contributing to 11 goals. He operates in midfield and has been part of the Juventus first-team group before now preparing for a new chapter in Turkey.

His move to Besiktas will initially be temporary, although the proposed purchase option gives the Istanbul club the opportunity to secure his services on a permanent basis for a fee of approximately 15m euros.

The journey from Turin comes as Miretti’s transfer moves towards completion, with his arrival in Istanbul marking the next stage of negotiations between Juventus and Besiktas.
