Eyad Salah makes A. Abo Qir switch as Egyptian defender moves into Premier League

Egyptian centre-back Eyad Salah has joined A. Abo Qir from Mokawloon U23 on a free transfer.

The 21-year-old completed the move on 15 August 2026, beginning a new chapter with a club competing in the Premier League. Salah’s arrival represents his first senior-club change since moving into Mokawloon’s under-23 team in 2024.

Salah spent the previous two seasons within the Mokawloon setup, progressing from the club’s under-19 side to the under-23 squad. He joined Mokawloon U23 from Mokawloon U19 on 1 July 2024, after starting that stage of his development at Pyramids FC U19.

The right-footed defender has recorded two Premier League appearances in his career, with eight minutes played. Those outings form the available senior record for a player whose primary position is centre-back.

His move to A. Abo Qir gives him a fresh opportunity at senior level after his time with Mokawloon U23. The transfer was completed without a fee, with Salah changing clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Salah was born on 24 June 2005 and represents Egypt by nationality. His route through Pyramids FC’s youth ranks and Mokawloon’s academy teams has taken him from under-19 football to a first move involving a senior club.

At A. Abo Qir, he joins a side listed in the Premier League and adds a young central defender to its squad. The transfer also marks a clear progression in Salah’s club career, following his movement through youth and development football since 2023.

Salah’s record shows two appearances in the Premier League, while his latest club move takes him away from Mokawloon U23 and to A. Abo Qir. The Egyptian defender has therefore completed a free transfer effective from 15 August 2026.
