The conclusion of the twelfth round of the Egyptian Premier League 2023-2024 witnessed the culmination of seven matches, with the postponement of Al Ahly’s clash against Al Dakhleya and Zamalek’s fixture against Pharco, as decided by the Competitions Committee of the Professional Clubs Association.
This decision was made due to Al Ahly’s engagement in a showdown against CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League and Zamalek’s pivotal match against Al-Salmiya in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The round also featured four draws, both goalless and with goals, as Pyramids drew with FC Masr, Smouha tied with Al Ahly Bank (1-1), El Gouna clashed with Al Masry (2-2), and Tala’ea El Gaish managed to equalize against Al Ittihad Al Sakandary after trailing by two goals, ending the match with a 2-2 scoreline.
Enppi ascended to the top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 22 points following a victory against Arab Contractors with a narrow scoreline of 1-0.
They surpassed ZED, who sits in second place with 20 points, while Al Ittihad Al Sakandary secured the third position with 19 points. Pyramids FC occupies the fourth position with 18 points.
Furthermore, the twelfth round saw the resurgence of Ismaily and Baladiyat El Mahalla, both teams reclaiming victories.
Ismaily defeated Ceramica Cleopatra 2-1, setting the stage for their much-anticipated encounter against Zamalek in the upcoming round.
Meanwhile, Baladiyat El Mahalla secured a 1-0 victory over Modern El Fayoum.
Hamid Ibrahim, the assistant coach of Ismaily, expressed his satisfaction with the players’ performance and level after the victory against Ceramica Cleopatra, emphasizing that the three points were the result of collective effort and dedication within the team.
Ibrahim further stated, “We dedicate this victory to our loyal fans and promise them that we will continue to play with determination to ensure positive results and improve the team’s position in the league standings.
We will close this chapter and begin preparations for the tough match against Zamalek, where we will spare no effort to please our fans.”
The thirteenth round of the league is set to kick off tomorrow, Sunday, with three matches: Enppi vs. Smouha, Al Ahly Bank vs. FC Masr, and Pyramids vs. Al Ittihad Al Sakandary.
