Former Spain and Barcelona winger, David Villa, has praised teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, insisting that he performances are not normal for someone his age.
At 17, Yamal has established himself as the main man in the Spanish national team and is currently the poster boy of FC Barcelona.
Speaking on the performances of the attacker this season, David Villa told Mundo Deportivo, “Lamine’s performance isn’t normal.”
Villa continued, “It only happens occasionally [to see a player like Lamine], but in Spain they are working to find outstanding players at a young age.
“This allows the kids to be prepared. But there are cases of special talents, like Raúl or Cesc in their day, who also emerged very young.”
This season, Lamine Yamal has scored 14 goals for FC Barcelona in all competitions.
Courtesy of his amazing performances, he is regarded as one of the few players likely to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
