Everton now leading race to sign Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane
English Premier League side Everton are leading the race to sign Moroccan youngster Hamza Igamane.
The 22-year-old attacker has been on the radar of several European clubs following his impressive stint in Glasgow.
French outfits Stade Rennais and Lille are also in the mix, with the former eyeing Igamane as a replacement for outgoing striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, who is expected to leave Rennes this summer.
Igamane has reportedly become a priority target for Les Rouges et Noirs.
Lille had previously reached personal terms with the Moroccan international, but the deal has since stalled.
Despite the setback, the French side, nicknamed Les Dogues, remain keen and have not entirely given up on completing the transfer. While no official bid has been made, sources from Foot Mercato indicate Lille may still submit an offer.
Everton, under new leadership, are looking to strengthen their attacking options. After recently acquiring Thierno Barry, manager David Moyes is said to be considering Hamza Igamane as another key addition to his front line.
Meanwhile, Dutch side Feyenoord are also monitoring the striker’s situation closely.
