Roberto Martinez: “Romelu Lukaku Can Become the Best Striker in the World”
Despite a less prolific start to the season compared to his impressive loan spell, Romelu Lukaku continues to enjoy the full support of Everton manager Roberto Martinez. The Spanish coach remains convinced that the Belgian international, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has what it takes to become the best striker in world football.
“We’re talking about a striker who can become the best in the world,” said Martinez. “We often label strikers. Some are pure goal scorers, others can organize the game from the back. Romelu can do everything.”
Martinez praised Lukaku’s passion for the game, pointing out that the 22-year-old watches four to six matches a week and continues to develop both mentally and tactically.
Lukaku, who signed permanently with Everton from Chelsea for £28 million, is now looking to rediscover his scoring touch in the Premier League clash against Tottenham on matchday 13. Expectations remain high for the young striker as he continues to carry the Toffees’ attacking hopes.
