Everton lead race to sign Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane from Rangers

Everton have reportedly moved into pole position to sign Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window.

Impressive season in Scotland

Igamane, 22, has enjoyed a standout campaign with Glasgow Rangers, netting 14 goals and providing three assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from clubs across Europe.

The striker, who earned his first cap for Morocco in March during a 2-1 World Cup qualifying victory against Niger, has been identified as a key transfer target for Everton manager David Moyes.

With the likely departure of Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the end of the season, the Toffees are eager to secure a reliable replacement.

Competition from England and Europe

Everton face competition from several clubs, including fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice.

However, Everton are believed to have taken the lead in negotiations, as they seek to strengthen their squad amid a difficult domestic campaign.

Rangers set asking price

Rangers are reportedly demanding a transfer fee of over £20 million (€24 million) for Igamane.

Having signed him for just €2.36 million from AS FAR Rabat last summer, the Scottish club stands to make a significant profit from his sale.

The funds would likely be reinvested in securing new talent for the squad.

Despite the financial benefits of a potential transfer, Igamane’s departure would not be well received by Rangers fans, who have grown fond of the striker’s contributions this season.

As the summer window approaches, Everton will look to finalise a deal and fend off interest from their rivals in securing one of the Scottish Premiership’s top talents.
