Everton FC are in advanced talks to extend the contract of Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
The Toffees are determined to tie down the 35-year-old to a new deal and want to seal the deal as soon as possible.
Idrissa Gueye signed for Everton in 2022 following his spell in the French capital. At the time, he signed a two-year contract before Everton later exercised a club option to retain Gueye’s services for a further year.
With the 2024/25 football season coming to an end, Idrissa Gueye’s contract with Everton was set to expire at the end of June 2025.
In the past few weeks, the experienced midfielder has been linked with a potential move to France, with Paris FC thought to be interested in his services.
If he had agreed to move this summer, Idrissa Gueye would have joined the newly promoted club on a free transfer.
However, Everton have managed to convince Gueye to stay, and he is set to sign a contract extension deal with Everton in the coming days.
