Saint George has been crowned champions of the Ethiopian football league, securing their 26th title after a 1-0 victory over Sidama on Monday. With 58 points, the Addis Ababa-based team has an unassailable lead at the top, ensuring they cannot be caught by second-placed Ethiopia Bunna, even with five matches remaining in the season.
As champions, Saint George will represent Ethiopia in the upcoming CAF Champions League, marking another significant achievement for one of the country’s most successful football clubs.
