Esperance Sportive de Tunis supporters voiced their discontent with the club’s management during their recent league match against Gafsa at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades.
The fans displayed banners accusing the administration of weakness and questionable dealings in player transfers.
This protest follows Esperance’s elimination from the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, where they were defeated 1-0 on aggregate by South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
The loss has intensified scrutiny on the club’s leadership and performance.
Adding to the club’s challenges, tensions have escalated between Esperance and the Tunisian Professional League.
The league recently suspended Algerian forward Youcef Belaïli for two matches and fined him 5,000 dinars for making an inappropriate gesture during a goal celebration against JS Omrane.
As a result, Belaïli missed the match against Gafsa and will also be absent from the upcoming derby against Club Africain.
The combination of the team’s Champions League exit, internal disputes, and player suspensions has created a turbulent period for Esperance, prompting fans to demand accountability and change within the club’s hierarchy.
