The standoff between Youssef Belaili and Espérance de Tunis appears to be nearing its resolution. According to Afrik-foot, the Algerian midfielder, who was previously sidelined from training for refusing to extend his contract, was reinstated by the club on Thursday.
Belaili participated in the collective training session, marking his return after being compelled to train alone since March 25.
Since February, Belaili had been prohibited from training with the team. The club, facing the end of his contract, sought to pressure him into extending it to avoid losing him for free, a proposition he rejected, leading to his exclusion.
However, the situation may not be fully resolved yet. Belaili stated, “At the moment, I have no intention of extending my contract. This doesn’t mean I don’t want to stay here, but I have two interesting offers from Toulouse and Nantes, and I am tempted by an experience in Europe.”
The outcome of this saga remains uncertain.
