Eric Konate joins KF Laci: Ivorian left-back moves from Konyaspor on loan

Ivorian left-back Eric Konate has joined KF Laci from Turkish club Konyaspor on loan until 30 June 2027.

The 21-year-old defender moves to Albania’s Kategoria Superiore after joining Konyaspor earlier in the 2026-27 season. Konate signed for the Turkish club from Max United FC on 22 July for €30,000, before switching leagues just over a month later.

Konate is left-footed and operates primarily at left-back. He had not made an appearance for Konyaspor in the opening three possible Super Lig matches of the campaign before completing his move to KF Laci.

His transfer to Konyaspor followed a period without a club. He joined Max United FC on 1 July 2025, having previously left Belgian side Francs Borains at the end of the 2024-25 season. His earlier career also included spells with FC Treichville and Hatayspor Under-21s.

Konate joined Hatayspor Under-21s from FC Treichville on loan in July 2022, returning to FC Treichville at the end of that year. He then moved to Francs Borains in September 2023 before departing the Belgian club the following summer.

The move gives Konate the opportunity to continue his career in the Kategoria Superiore after starting the season in the Super Lig. KF Laci will retain his services for the duration of the loan, with the agreement scheduled to run until the end of June 2027.

Konate, who was born on 20 December 2004, has now completed his move from Konyaspor to KF Laci on loan.
