Eric Abidal Poised to Join FC Barcelona’s Coaching Staff
Former FC Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is set to return to the club, not as a player, but as part of the coaching team. According to Sport newspaper, Abidal is expected to be appointed technical director overseeing the first team, replacing Emilio Sabadell, who was recently dismissed.
Earlier reports had linked Abidal to a role directing Barcelona’s global football academies, but this new position would place him closer to the heart of the club’s sporting operations.
