Equatorial Guinea’s national football team, Nzalang Nacional, is set to make a sartorial statement at the upcoming AFCON 2023, as the Equatoguinean Football Federation revealed the team’s new jerseys during a ceremony held at a prestigious hotel in Malabo.
The “errea” brand, which previously adorned the team’s kits, now makes way for the renowned Italian brand “Macron.”
The unveiling event, held on Saturday, showcased the vibrant new designs dominated by the national colors of red, white, and blue.
The jerseys were presented by notable figures from the team, including José Nabil Ondó, Charles Ondó, and Noe Elá, symbolizing the next chapter in Equatorial Guinea’s football journey.
In a noteworthy development, Juan Antonio Nguema, the Secretary-General of FEGUIFUT (Equatoguinean Football Federation), highlighted the environmental consciousness embedded in the new kits.
Nguema explained that all three uniforms, aside from their aesthetic appeal, possess unique qualities as they are biodegradable and designed to absorb sweat efficiently.
This environmentally friendly approach aligns with the growing global emphasis on sustainable practices in sports.
The shift to the Italian brand Macron extends beyond the men’s national team, as the partnership encompasses all teams affiliated with the federation for the next four years.
This strategic move not only aims to elevate the aesthetic appeal of the teams but also underlines the commitment to sporting excellence and innovation.
President Venancio Tomás Ndong Michá expressed the board’s commitment to providing optimal conditions for the national team.
The Macron jerseys signify the conclusion of the legacy associated with the previous supplier, Gustavo Ndong Edú, and his board, who had entered into a contract with the “errea” brand for the Equatorial Guinea national teams.
As Equatorial Guinea prepares to showcase its prowess in the AFCON 2023, the Macron jerseys add an element of style and sustainability to the team’s campaign, creating anticipation and excitement among fans and football enthusiasts alike.
